Alice Contemporary music, classic literature, poetry, and interdisciplinary choreography. An original integrative aerial, dance, and theater production. As a young girl, Alice loves to play and imagine. But as she grows older, she finds that her own imagination as well as the world she wishes to explore can be frightening. She starts to question who exactly the mirror is reflecting back to her. Should she continue to listen to the visionary within her, or should she follow in her friend's footsteps and subscribe to a "normal" life? How can the adventurous artist and the cautious thinker help balance each other, and what is to become of their friendship if they don't? Themes: friendship, creative courage, childhood, growing, identity, art & society, perception Meditations: value of art in society, value and risk of imagination, necessity of friendship, grounding the higher purpose in simple, concrete values Cultural change: Illustrate the importance for society to support, ground, guide, and trust imaginative and ambitious young people; help budding visionaries retain strong connection to simple values like friendship and serving their community.
